Andrea Hernandez-Bures, DVM

Dr. Andrea Hernandez-Bures was born and raised on the island of Puerto Rico. She completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez Campus and graduated from Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. Following graduation, Dr. Hernandez-Bures completed a small animal medicine and surgery rotating internship in southwest Florida and then worked in general practice for a year as a part time associate veterinarian while doing research with the dermatology service at the University of Florida. She completed a specialty internship in dermatology at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and then moved to California to complete an American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD) residency at Animal Dermatology Clinic – Tustin. 

Dr. Hernandez-Bures is passionate for the care and well- being of her patients, and values building strong relationships with their pet parents. As a native Puerto Rican, she is fluent in English and Spanish and is able to serve Spanish-speaking clients.

Dr. Hernandez-Bures enjoys spending time with her husband and their two cats, Lupe and Mango. In her spare time, she loves traveling, going to the beach, and exploring local breweries/eateries.
