Cheryl Vargo, DVM

Dr. Vargo received her DVM (1999) from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) in Saskatchewan, Canada. After working in general practice for four years, she completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialists Referral Animal Hospital in North Carolina, followed by a combined small animal internal medicine residency and Master’s degree in veterinary science at WCVM. Dr. Vargo achieved Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in July 2008. After working in both private practice and as clinical faculty at WCVM, Dr. Vargo moved to Athens, Georgia in 2019 to pursue a specialty internship, second Master’s degree, and residency in veterinary dermatology at the University of Georgia. Dr. Vargo’s interests in dermatology include atopic dermatitis, endocrine dermatopathies and immune mediated skin disease.
