Dr. Plant received his B.A. from Reed College and his D.V.M. from Oregon State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. He completed a veterinary dermatology residency at the Animal Dermatology Clinic and became board certified in 1991. Together with Dr. Griffin and Dr. Rosenkrantz, he established the clinic that would become the Animal Dermatology Clinic -- Marina del Rey. He managed the skin problems of household pets, service dogs, animal actors, and pets of Hollywood celebrities for 15 years. Dr. Plant returned to Oregon to join the faculty at Oregon State University, where he lectured and performed research in veterinary dermatology for three years.
Dr. Plant has published numerous research articles, mainly related to allergic skin diseases. He served as the Dermatology Section Editor of the Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association and has served as the President of the Portland Veterinary Medical Association and Washington County Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Plant and his wife, Kara, live in Sherwood with their two children, dogs, cats, goats and chickens. Dr. Plant enjoys traveling, golf, photography, and spending time with his family.
