Adult, male mix-breed cat, Oscar receives treatment for environmental allergy and atopy.
Oscar was adopted at the height of his allergic condition. He groomed himself excessively to alleviate itchiness and the result was significant loss of his coat. The constant grooming also caused vomiting of hairballs.
After being evaluated, Oscar was allergy tested and found to have strong positive reactions to insects, tree pollens, grasses, weeds, house dust mites. An allergen hyposensitization serum was formulated and owners administered periodic allergy injections to help de-sensitize Oscar to these allergens. Six months later he is doing much better, is less itchy and has grown much of his hair back.
